The Master’s degree in Mechanics is an active participant in the CaMéX-IA Campus des Métiers d’excellence, as well as in the Université de Lorraine’s PLEIADES project.
Within CaMéX-IA, students are developing 3D resources to create models of industrial sites. A joint project with ArcelorMittal and the Lycée Louis Vincent in Metz aims to better visualize flows (energy, materials, etc.) within production sites. The virtual worlds are developed in Unreal Engine (Epic Games). Students have the opportunity to create all the resources, from CAD to the implementation of interactions, to make the digital twin industrially usable.

PLEIADES project
Building on this experience, the Master’s students worked on the development of virtual teaching resources (practical work on RDM, fire alarms, containment alarms). One great success was the virtual tour of the UFR MIM. You can see the video of this project on https://mim.univ-lorraine.fr/virtualisation/

The virtual tour is a prime example. During their projects, students from the Master’s degree in Mechanics and the Licence SPI are very active in developing virtual teaching resources. Thanks to the Université de Lorraine’s PLEIADES project, the students have proposed a complete virtualization of RDM practical exercises. 4 practical exercises are now available for UFR MIM students: thin-walled cylinder under pressure, bending-torsion of a bar, compound bending of a disk, simple tensile test.
