The Master’s degree in Mechanics is an active participant in the Campus des Métiers d’excellence CaMéX-IA.
To this end, students are developing virtual reality (VR) resources to create 3D models of industrial sites. A joint project with ArcelorMittal and the Lycée Louis Vincent in Metz aims to improve the visualisation of fluid and gas flows within production sites. The virtual worlds are developed using Unreal Engine (Epic Games). The students have the opportunity to create all the resources, from CAD to the implementation of interactions to make the digital twin usable industrially.

Encouraged by this experience, the master’s students worked on the development of educational resources in VR (practical work on RDM in VR, fire alarms, containment alarms). One great success was the virtual tour of the UFR MIM. You can watch the video of this project at https://mim.univ-lorraine.fr/virtualisation/
